Background
on adjustable beds
Whether you have a medical condition that necessitates
an adjustable bed, you have trouble sleeping at night,
have trouble getting in or out of bed, have back problems,
or you just like to read or watch TV in bed, you should
consider purchasing an adjustable bed. More and more
people of all ages are finding out that adjustable beds
can make the their time spent in bed more comfortable
and relaxing.
Important
features and functions of adjustable beds
All adjustable sleep systems are comprised of two main
components- the base and the mattress. Here are some
of the most important features to consider as you compare
adjustable bed manufacturers and models:
Size-
size usually refers to the standard mattress sizes:
twin, full, queen, and king. Adjustable beds follow
the same sizing dimensions as non-adjustable beds. Because
of the unique capabilities of adjustable beds, some
adjustable beds split the mattress into two separate
mattresses so that they can adjust separately. Some
adjustable beds split only the top portion of the mattress
to balance flexibility and intimacy.
Mattress
Type- most adjustable beds require a mattress that has
been specifically designed to adjust; regular mattresses
should not be used on adjustable beds. Mattresses for
adjustable beds come in several different types-
-
Foam
- Latex
- Coil Spring
- Air
Each
type of mattress has its own set of advantages and disadvantages,
and your choice of mattress will be based on budget
and comfort.
